New F-1 Degree Students
Welcome to Cal Poly!
If you are a new international student accepted to Cal Poly, please complete the Visa Document Request for Degree Seeking Students to request your I-20 to apply for an F-1 student visa. Please only submit this form after you have been admitted or conditionally admitted to Cal Poly. This form provides information and documents that the International Students and Scholars office needs to issue your I-20.Once you receive your I-20 follow the visa instructions for:
- Students entering the USA applying for an F-1 visa
- Students in F-1 status transferring to Cal Poly
- Students applying for a change to F-1 from another visa type while remaining in the USA - Please consult with an International Student Advisor to decide if this is the best option for you. Note that approval may take 4-6 months or longer.
